A bad first half proved costly as the Roscommon hurlers suffered a heavy defeat.

The Roscommon hurlers missed out on a Nicky Rackard cup title after losing 1-27 to 0-19 to Tyrone at Croke Park.

Tyrone led 1-14 to 0-9 at half-time; Dan Glynn hit six points for the Rossies while Cathal Dolan and Mickey Joe Egan were also on target.

Oisin Kelly reduced the margin to five points within three minutes of the restart but the margin failed to get any tighter thereafter as Roscommon suffered a heavy defeat.
