A Gold Cup winner had to be stood down after the hard fall.

Three jockeys were stood down following a heavy fall in the opening race of the day at Roscommon racecourse.

Five jockeys crashed out of the race after a pile-up at the opening fence in the Roscommon Three-Year-Old Maiden Hurdle.

Jockeys including Gold Cup Winner Jack Kennedy were among five who failed to progress in the race after the opening fence,  and three were subsequently stood down for later races.
