St. Faithleach's All-Ireland title hopes ended by Trim

Aaron Lynch's second-half penalty goal proves decisive in the end.

St Faithleach’s missed out on a place in the AIB GAA All-Ireland intermediate club football final after losing 1-11 to 0-11 to Trim at The Downs in Westmeath.

The sides were deadlocked at five points apiece at half-time before Aaron Lynch’s penalty goal on 41 minutes transpired to be the decisive score.

Six minutes later, Trim moved five points clear before points from Ciaran Murtagh, Diarmuid Murtagh and David Rooney left two points between them one minute into injury time.
