St Brigids GAA Club notes weekending January ninth

It was with deep regret that the club heard of the passing of Willie Gormley in Edenderry Co.Offaly over the Christmas period.

Willie, along with eight others put their own money together to purchase our club grounds in the 1950’s.

For this St. Brigid’s will forever be indebted to Willie and the other eight involved. We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Mary and all the Gormley family.

We were also saddened to hear of the passing of Dominic Kenna, during the week in Dublin at the age of 92. Dominic was a playing member of our club in the Fifties, winning a county junior title in 1952 and a senior medal in 1953 our club’s first senior title.

Willie continued to play a major role in the club in the fifties and supported the club throughout the years both on and off the pitch, most recently supporting our new development.

The club extends their deepest sympathies to Dominic’s wife Rose, his brother Barney (Moyvannion, Kiltoom) and all the Kenna family at this sad time.
