Shane McGuirk has qualified for the final stages of the PDC qualifying school in Milton Keynes.
The WDF world champion, who claimed the title at the Lakeside last month carried that fine form into the opening day of the event. McGuirk took five wins to reach the last eight.
The Monaghan man will be back in action towards the end of the week with the qualifying rounds continuing.

A total of 29 PDC Tour Cards will be on offer in final stage, with each of the daily winners in the UK and Europe receiving an automatic Tour Card.
The remaining 21 Tour Cards will be allocated to players from the UK and European Q School final stage orders of merit, and split on a pro-rata basis of total participants in each region.
