The Republic of Ireland captain looks set miss the games against France and the Netherlands.

Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman looks set to miss the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against France and the Netherlands.

Coleman sustained a knee ligament injury when playing for Everton last May and has been sidelined ever since. The defender looks set to be absent for another six to eight weeks.

The news is a major blow for Ireland with two important games fast approaching.

Ireland face world-cup runners up France away on September 7th before playing host to the Netherlands three days later.

The Boys in Green have had a disappointing game so far having amassed three points from three games.

Stephen Kenny’s men have beaten Gibraltar but suffered defeats to France at home and Greece away.
