As the club championships now enters the knock-out stages across the region; a little more focus is now coming to bear on the rules within the game.
The introduction of the changes by the football review committee at the start of the year have been heralded as a massive positive to the game by spectators. Whereas, players also now say it has made it more enjoyable to play.
Darren Hughes, who announced his retirement from the inter-county scene last week, played for Monaghan this year under the rules and is now busy with his club Scotstown in the senior championship.
Hughes told the sportsdesk that the game is definitely the better for the changes.
