40x20 County Championships
Lisacul's Denis Creaton beat his club mate, training partner and doubles partner Sean Jennings in the 40x20 junior county final last Saturday.
As expected these two knew each other's, it was a tight affair the whole way with Denis prevailing 21-12, 14-21, 11-7.
Next up for Denis is sure to be another battle royale against his old rival Ciaran Burke from Mayo.
On the same bill St. Coman's Glenn Walshe overcame the stiff challenge of John Coggeran from Kilglass in the masters 'B' grade.
Glenn was a little sluggish early on and John really put it up to him before Glenn's smoother style and excellent serving took him to a 21-17, 21-3 victory.
Siobhan Treacy is in rich vein of form from the relatively recently played Covid-delayed 2020 juvenile championships and is now looking to make her mark in the ladies junior 'B' grade.
Treacy got off to a great start when she had a comfortable victory over Laura Mannion in St. Coman's last Saturday. Showing a very improved sidearm stroke along with her usual cool shot selection Siobhan won 21-5, 21-5.
