Roscommon Gaels now advance to play Clann na nGael in the semi-finals.

Roscommon Gaels reached the Hodson Bay Hotel Roscommon SFC semi-finals after edging out Oran by the smallest of margins at Dr Hyde Park today.

Roscommon Gaels led 2-3 to 1-3 at half-time and held off a second half comeback from Oran to record a 2-5 to 1-7 victory.

Oran’s Jack Casey found the net on eight minutes before a 17th minute goal from Mark Healy helped Roscommon Gaels to a two-point lead at the second water break.

Brian Kelly registered another goal for Roscommon Gaels on 24 minutes and while Oran hit three of the next four scores, they were still three points down at half-time.

Oran showed great urgency after the resumption and two points from Paul Kenny along with a brace from Darragh Walsh helped reduce the margin to a single point at the second water break.

Connie Regan subsequently levelled the game with eight minutes remaining before Mark Healy landed the winning six minutes later.

Roscommon Gaels will now play Clann na nGael in the last four after Liam Kearns’ side were 0-25 to 2-3 winners over Michael Glaveys on Saturday.
