St. Johns Athletic landed their first ever Premier Division title following an unbelievable game at Lecarrow on Sunday.
A good Moore United side were three up at half-time thanks to Jay McPhilbin who gave Moore United a 1–0 lead. Charles Nevin converted a penalty after Josh Lennon was fouled.
James Byrne got a touch on a Rian Carpenter to make it three.
Moore United only needed a draw to be crowned Champions and St. Johns seemed to have an impossible task as they now required four without reply from Moore.
Against all the odds and roared on by a big home support St. Johns did the impossible and added five goals without reply in the second half.
Daire Keenan and Kevin Brennan scored two each and Cian Kelly one to secure a win and the start of some unbelievable celebrations by the home side.
Hard luck to Moore United who like St Johns had only lost one of their previous 13 league games. However, they have the consolation of winning the Premier Division Cup a week earlier.
Skyvalley Rovers travelled to Moylough where they played their last league game of the season.
The hosts had to win while a draw would be enough to secure the Division one Championship for the Taughmaconnell side and automatic promotion to the Premier Division.
While always the better side Skyvalley were left hanging on at the end before getting the required result much to the relief of the big travelling support.
Brian Croffey and Conal Moore scored for Skyvalley Rovers and Dermott Hughes and Joseph Whyte scored for Moylough.
