It could be a big setback for Ballinasloe as their chances of promotion are not great following this home defeat.

The first-half was scoreless with few chances created by either sides. The teams would have been pleased with a level game heading into the dressing rooms at the break.

Coming out for the second-half, Dunmore took less than 30 seconds to open the scoring. Shane McGrath chipping a ball over the defence for Padraig Martyn to nod home.

Shortly after Tom Forde slotted home to double the lead for the Dunmore. Dunmore soon took control and ran away with the game, Seamus Culkeen nodded home from a McGrath cross to make it three.

Tom Byrne then beat the keeper to the ball from a corner to head home for four. McGrath won and converted a penalty to make it five. Byrne finished the scoring as he headed home a beautifully whipped cross from JJ Glynn.

Division one coming to climax

Glen Celtic and Skyvalley Rovers clashed in Glenamaddy in a vital Division 1 game. Celtic took the lead on 15 minutes through Ethan O’Dowd who scored from close range.

However, Skyvalley upped their game. Garry Canavan came close to levelling the game with a well struck free-kick which was saved by the keeper.

On 28 minutes, a quick one-two between Gary Canavan and John Fehily created an opening and John volleyed low to the corner of the Glen Celtic net.

Garry Canavan converted a free-kick, seven minutes into the second-half. On 65 minutes, a good cross from Conal Moore reached his neighbour Mark Richardson who made it 3–1.

The Glenamaddy side tried everything to get back in the game, but the Taughmaconnell side held on for a win.

Cloonfad United second side beat Moore United’s second side and they will now play Kilkerrin United in the Division 2 Cup Final.

Jack Reinhardt gave Cloonfad a 1–0 lead in the first minute of the game. Bernie McDonagh added their second on 68 minutes and Kealan Flynn sealed a win with eight minutes remaining.

Kilkerrin United beat a good Roscommon United side at Kilkerrin and they now hope to add the Division 2 Cup to the Division 2 Championship already claimed.

The visitors took the lead with a fine finish by Korey Kedian 10 minutes into the first-half.
