Power and Kearney lead local challenge at Irish Open

Niall Kearney and Seamus Power lead the Irish challenge at the Irish Open in Mount Juliet after round one.

Kearney and Power both shot four-under-par rounds of 68. A bogey-free round 64 sees Ryan Fox hold the clubhouse lead on eight-under par.

The Kiwi is a shot clear of France’s Frederic Lacroix with a group of five in the chase on six-under-par.

Padraig Harrington shot an opening round 70 for two-under-par with John Murphy also in the clubhouse on the same score.

Shane Lowry and Jonathan Caldwell both shot one-under-par rounds of 71.
