Longford Town now only have two wins from 29 games.

Bohemians came from behind to beat Longford Town 4-1 in at Bishopsgate. Daire Doyle’s men led 1-0 at half-time before a dominant second-half display saw Bohemians depart with three points.

The game’s first meaningful chance came on 15 minutes after the Gypsies were awarded a free-kick after Aaron O’Driscoll fouled Georgie Kelly.

Tyreke Wilson’s subsequent delivery was headed home by Georgie Kelly at the near post but he returned from an offside position and the goal was ruled out.

12 minutes later Town almost took the lead, Dylan Grimes found Darragh Nugent whose perfectly-weighted left wing cross found Dean Williams whose 20-yard effort narrowly missed the target.

Town went close again on 32 minutes, Williams’ shot was parried by James Talbot, the rebound fell to Dylan Grimes who’s attempt was smothered by Talbot.

Another chance went astray a minute later. Shane Elworthy’s through ball sent Darragh Nugent through only for him to miss the target completely from six yards.

Town eventually took the lead on 37 minutes when Elworthy’s cross was parried by Talbot and the ball subsequently deflected off Williams and into the net.

Bohemians offered little attacking threat during the first-half but could have restored parity on the stroke of half-time following poor Town defending.

Mick McDonnell miscued clearance fell to Dawson Devoy, whoses 20-yard shot sailed over the crossbar as the hosts led 1-0 at the break.
