Vincent Daly led Longford to their one and only senior provincial title

Longford winning captain of 1968 Vincent Daly has passed away. The Granard man led the county to their one and only senior provincial success over Laois in Croker Park on a 3-09 to 1-04 score line, with Daly contributing 3 points to the team over the course of the championship that year as they dispatched of Dublin in the quarter final before accounting for the defending All Ireland champions Meath in the semi final.

Kerry eventually accounted for the historic side in the All Ireland semi final.
