The Longford U18 ladies footballers missed out on a Leinster minor A title after losing 1-23 to 3-8 to Kildare at Kinnegad.
Kildare led 0-13 to 2-5 at half-time. Kate Shannon and Grace Cullen with the goals for Longford.
Kildare moved 12 points clear 12 minutes into the second half. Three minutes later a goal from Longford’s Elena O’Reilly’s made it a nine-point game.

The sides cancelled each other out thereafter as the Lilywhites ran out convincing winners in the end.
