Longford Town wrapped up their pre-season preparations with a 1-1 draw with Athlone Town in the Athlone Town Stadium on Saturday.
Derek Daly had given Athlone the lead on 64 minutes with Dylan Grimes equalizing on 78 minutes as Daire Doyle gave a final runout to his troops ahead of their season opener with Derry City on Saturday night.
Longford had beaten Cabinteely 6-0 on Friday night thanks to two goals each from Dean Byrne, Rob Manley (including a penalty), Callum Warfield and Aaron McCabe.
Doyle started with two different teams in both games.

Longford Town face Derry City in the SSE Airtricity Premier division opener at 6pm on Saturday March 20 in Bishopsgate.
