Longford Town look for back-to-back wins

Longford Town will look to make it four games unbeaten when they host Bray Wanderers in Bishopsgate on Saturday night.

Longford have a win and a draw in their last two league against Kerry and Finn Harps. Whereas they registered a win against Castlebar Celtic in the FAI cup first round last Sunday.

Currently 18 points separate the two clubs in the standings, with Wanderers in third and the Midlanders occupying seventh place.

However, First Team Coach Paul Heffernan is not under estimating the challenge their opponents will pose.

“We will give Longford the respect that they deserve” said Bray Wanderers first team coach Paul Heffernan.

“They have only lost once in their last six homes. But we will approach the game like we always do - trying to win it. We have to keep pushing forward together” stated Heffernan.

Bray are without midfielder Cian Doyle who is suspended. However, defender Harvey Warren makes a return to the squad. On-loan winger Matthew Britton and midfielder Jamie Ryan are doubts.

The teams met on the opening day of the season back in February at Bishopsgate. Wanderers won 1-0 off an own goal.

At the Carlisle Grounds last April, the Wicklow side won 4-0. Conor Knight and Cian Curtis’ first half goals were added to by Rhys Knight and Max Murphy in the second period.
