Defeat for the senior ladies

Ladies Senior Basketball

After losing to Castlerea Cavaliers in their previous basketball match, The Phoenix Ladies went two defeats on the trot after losing out to the Mohill Mavericks.

The Leitrim side proved too strong for an understrength Phoenix with the visitors winning, 52 points to 28.

Aideen Mulligan top-scored with 11 points, Rachel Penrose was the only other home player to hit double digits with 10 points.

Eilish Foley scored three points whereas, both Karen Walsh and Monica Bannon scored two points each. Erica Jorda completed the line-up.

U18 Girls

It was a comprehensive victory over Kildare Gliders for the team in the Midlands League in the Mall. The girls winning out 54-24.

The remaining two fixtures, sees Phoenix take on North Kildare Eagles in Maynooth on Friday, March 22nd. Then they travel to the Kestrels, Portarlington on Sunday, March 24th.

U16 Girls

Phoenix recorded a six-point win over Ballyroan in the Mall, 56-42 in their Midlands basketball League Division One clash.

It was a very satisfying performance especially as the team had been under-par in the defeat away to Ballyroan in the previous game. They followed-up that up by beating Tullamore.

A depleted Team Fire pulled off a victory away to Boyle in the LLR winning out 37-27.

U16 Boys

Phoenix White continued their impressive form with a comfortable 59 points to 23 win over Boyle.

U14 Boys

Phoenix lost out away to Boyle by 41-32.
