The senior women began the New Year with a six-point victory over Mohill in the LLR League.

The women coming out on top 48 to 38.

They made it back-to-back LLR League wins on Saturday last with an 11-point road victory against the Castlerea Cavaliers winning by 46 points to 35

Under-18 Boys & Girls

The U-18 Boys hosted Athlone in their first Midlands League encounter of the new year.

Phoenix struggled in the second-half and a combination of fast breaks and easy baskets helped Athlone to a comfortable half-time lead.

However, Phoenix fought back brilliantly in the third-quarter. However, Athlone pulled away in the final quarter to win by 58 points to 41.

They also lost out away to the Portarlington Kestrels on Sunday last, 50 to 37.

The Under 18 Girls team had an impressive win over Tullamore in the Midlands League.

Under 16 Boys

Our Under-16 Boys travelled to Maynooth for their first game since the Christmas break to face the North Kildare Eagles.

They came away with a 57 to 48 victory in this Midlands League contest.

In the LLR League, the Under-16 Boys White team won well on Sunday last with a 51 to 37 victory over Boyle.

Under-14 Boys & Girls

The U-14 girls got the new year off to a great start with a hard-fought single point victory over Tullamore. 33-32 in their Midlands League encounter.

They followed-up that league victory with a brilliant Midlands Cup semi-final triumph over Ballyroan Bluestars of Laois in the mall. 39-28.

Our U-14 Boys cruised to a comprehensive 63-40 win over Tullamore in the Midlands League. In the LLR League, they defeated Carrick White 49-28.

Under 12

Our U-12 Boys played two games against Carrick-on-Shannon over the weekend and lost both games.

Templemichael College

Hard luck to the Templemichael College U-19 Senior Boys Basketball team whose season came to an end with a narrow defeat to Colaiste na Mi, Navan in their Leinster quarter-final contest in the Mall.

Templemichael were just six seconds away from booking a semi-final place when the Navan school knocked down a 3-pointer to force the game into overtime.Eeventually the visitors edged home by four points.
