Michelle Farrell’s first-half goal helped Longford to an impressive opening day victory over Wicklow in the LIDL ladies league division 3B.
Longford led 1-9 to nine points in Aughrim. Michelle Farrell 1 -2 (2f), Grace Shannon (0-4), Sarah Shannon (0-2), Louise Monaghan (0-1) with Longford first half scores.
The Longford ladies registered nine second half points and even allowed for a late Wicklow as Longford won out to 1-18 to 1-12.

Longford will face Kildare in round next Sunday February 20th. Kildare scored a 3-11 to eight point win over Wexford.
