A dominant second-half display saw Warwickshire claim victory.

Longford missed out on an Allianz hurling league division 3B final place after losing 1-16 to 1-12 to Warwickshire at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

Longford dominated the first half and led 1-6 to 0-6 after 29 minutes. Micheal Mulcahy’s goal seven minutes in separating the sides.

The hosts finished the first half impressively. Points from Reuben Murray (free), Cathal Mullane and Darragh Caslin helped them lead 1-9 to 0-7 at half-time.

Luke Hands’ goal seven minutes into the second half saw Warwickshire make it a one-point game. Seven minutes later Kelvin Magee pushed the visitors two points clear.

Sean Lancaster halved the deficit on 50 minutes before Warwickshire landed four of the last five scores and claimed a narrow victory.
