Moving weekend in the Leitirm champions and things are a lot clearer after wins for Leitrim Gaels, St. Mary's and Aughawillan.
Leitrim Gaels 2-15 Gortletteragh 0-10
Leitrim Gaels continues their 100% record with a deserved victory over Gortletteragh.
The Leitrim village outfit took control of the game on 13 minutes when Shaun Chandler found the net.
Gortletteragh did battle back into the game but Enda Moreton goal on the stroke of half-time moved Gaels 2-3 to four points ahead.
Gortletteragh did battle in the second-half, but Gaels always had control finishing stronger to win by 11 points.
Gaels are second in the table with one round remaining in the group stage. Score difference seperates Gaels from Fenagh at the top.
St. Marys 4-12 Melvin Gaels 1-5
This was a mismatch on the pitch, but St Mary’s made sure the mismatch counted as their 20 point victory works in their score difference.
Conor Hackett and Adam Reynolds found the net inside 14 minutes. David O’Connell added Mary’s third goal on the stroke of half-time. Mary’s led 3-7 to three at the break.
The hosts may have taken their foot off the pedal in the second-half but they were never under any pressure.
Matthew Cleary found a Melvin Gaels goal on 55 minutes but Brian O’Donnell responded with a goal immediately.
Mary’s now have two wins to their name. The victory and the score-line moves them to fourth place in the table. Melvin Gaels are confirmed for the relegation play-offs.
Aughawillan 1-9 Glencar Manorhamilton 0-9
This was the crunch game and it was Glencar who were bitten down on.
Aughawillan’s victory sees them fifth in the table with one round remaining. Glencar manor need a win just to have a chance of making the quarter-finals.
This was tick-tack for the entirety in-fact it was Morgan Quinn’s goal three minutes from half-time which was the difference. The sides went in 1-4 to four points at the break.
There was no separating them in the second-half. Each side responded to each and every point.
The goal made the difference in the end and as the Willie’s claimed the win.
