Kenagh claim Longford intermediate crown after beating Sean Connolly's

Just two points separated the teams at the final whistle.

Kenagh were crowned Longford intermediate football champions following a 2-9 to 0-13 victory over Sean Connolly’s at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

The sides were level 14 minutes from time before two unanswered points saw Kenagh secure the Hennessy Cup.

Sean Connolly’s led 0-9 to 1-3 at half-time before a superior second-half display saw Kenagh claim the Hennessy Cup.

Sean Connolly’s started impressively and led 0-4 to 0-2 on 11 minutes. Daniel Reynolds chipped in with three points for the Ballinalee men, Ronan McGrail also on target.

Sean Connolly's subsequently moved six points clear before Josh Kelly's goal on 25 minutes left three between them. Sean Connolly’s held on to lead by the same margin at half-time.

Kenagh began the second half with urgency. Cormac McGann added a second goal three minutes after the restart and suddenly, the sides were level.

Four successive points from Keelan McGann gave Kenagh a one-point lead on 55 minutes. 60 seconds later, Daniel Reynolds restored parity.

Kenagh dominated the scoring thereafter. Points from Darren Carberry and Cormac McGann proved decisive in the end.
