Ireland struggle to Japan victory

A late flourish saw Ireland secure a Nations Championship win against Japan 36-20 in Australia.

Tom Stewart went over for a late try to give a more convincing look to the scoreline as the Irish made it two wins from two.

Indeed, Andy Farrell's side scored five tries to secure a second straight bonus-point win. Connacht number eight Sean Jansen marked his debut with a try and was one of Ireland's standout performers.

Indeed. Ireland now travel to Auckland for their next fixture against the All Blacks. Whereas New Zealand beat Italy 41-17 in Wellington.

Shannonside rugby correspondent Matthew Towey was not impressed with the Irish performance.
