Longford man Darragh Greene cant progress past semi-final

Starting with swimming news and Longford’s Darragh Greene missed out on a place in the 100 metre breaststroke final at the LEN European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, yesterday.

Greene started in lane eight of Monday's second breaststroke semi-final but the Irish record holder finished eighth in a time of 1:00.26 in a heat won by Great Britain's Rio 2016 gold medal winner Adam Peaty.

Greene will be back in the pool on Wednesday in the 200m Breaststroke. Greene could also feature in Ireland’s Men’s and Mixed 4x100m Medley Relays.
