All-Ireland runner’s-up Galway had too much for Leitrim as they won their FBD Cup quarter-final 3-21 to 1-13.
Padraig Joyce’s side got this pre-season game off to a flyer leading 2-12 to five points at half-time.
Rob Finnerty finding the net on eight minutes in a game where he scored 2-7 in total. Keith Beirne scored four of Leitrim’s first-half points.
A Leitrim mistake bang on half-time ended in a dear result as Ian Burke got the final touch on the ball as it rolled into the net. That gave Galway a 13 point half-time lead. 2-12 to 0-5.
Leitrim improved in the second-half, Barry McNulty landing a goal on 40 minutes. Beirne added five further points plus two from Paul Geaney.
Rob Finnerty converted a penalty nine minutes from time to put the gloss on the result for the 2022 All-Ireland runners-up as they won out 3-21 to 1-13.
Galway will face Mayo in next Saturday’s semi-final.
