Just three points separated the sides on 44 minutes before Fermanagh dominated the remainder of the contest resulting in a heavy defeat for Paddy Christie’s men.

David McGivney replied for Longford on 22 minutes but the Midlanders subsequently endured a scoring drought and failed to score for another 15 minutes.

Fermanagh landed four points without reply before David McGivney replied on the stroke of half-time where Fermanagh led 0-11 to 0-6.

Longford started the second half impressively and points from David McGivney and Keelin McGann made it a three-point game on 44 minutes.

Any hopes of a Longford resurgence were short-lived though as four unanswered points saw Fermanagh score a comfortable victory.
