Mayo get the defence of their title underway against Sligo

The dates and times for the Connacht football championship have been confirmed. Mayo and Sligo will get the action underway in their quarter final meeting on Saturday June 26th in Markievicz Park with the winner set to meet Leitrim on Sunday July the 11th. If Sligo cause an upset that last 4 encounter will be in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada, otherwise it is a trip to MacHale Park for Terry Hylands side. The other semi final will see Roscommon and Galway meeting in Dr. Hyde park on Sunday the 4th of July with a 2pm throw in. The provincial final is fixed for Sunday the 25th of July.

Quarter Final

Saturday 26th June @ 4.30pm

Sunday 4th July 2pm

Sunday 25th July @ 1.15pm.

It has also been confirmed that all panel members will be allowed to attend inter-county matches this summer.

Last year’s Championships saw playing squads strictly limited to 26.

But Minister for Sport Jack Chambers says players not involved in a matchday squad will be allowed inside the stadium for all inter-county games.
