Colmcille opened the Peter Hanley motors Longford senior championship with a six point victory over Clonguish.
Colmcille led four points to three at half-time. Jack Macken sending over three frees for Colmcille.
The game turned abruptly in the opening moments of the second-half, Cathal McCabe finding the back of the Clonguish net.

The sides exchanged points for the next 12 minutes leaving the game 1-6 to six points with a quarter left to play.
However Colmcille’s fitness told as they opened a four point gap with 10 minutes remaining. Clonguish did not register a score in the final period as Colmcille won 1-9 to seven points.
