Cian McPhillips marked his return to the track, his first meeting in almost five months at the FBK Games in Hengelo, the Netherlands this afternoon.
The Longford athlete took fifth place in the men’s 800m in 1:44.89. Dutch athlete Niels Laros took the win in 1:43.83.
Indeed, there was just .26 of a second between McPhillips in fifth and local athlete Samuel Chapple in second place.
At the same event this afternoon Sharlene Mawdsley came second in the 400m, with the Tipperary native clocking a new personal best of 50.14 seconds.
Whereas, Orla Comerford claimed victory in the women’s para 100m. Tyrone’s Nick Griggs finishing fourth in the men’s 5000m, finishing with a time of 13:19.01.
