With the Christmas season approaching only a small number of games were due to be played over the weekend.

Boyle Celtic missed out on the chance to go top of the Roscommon and District League Premier Division losing 2–1 away to St Johns Athletic.

In an excellent game, Boyle Celtic took the lead after 19 minutes through their leading scorer Callum Andrews.

The Lecarrow side were level ten minutes later. Following a corner kick the ball broke to Cian Kelly who volleyed to the roof of The Boyle net.

The deciding goal came 15 minutes into the second-half. The visitors were caught in possession playing out from the back. Cian Kelly played the ball to Daire Keenan who finished first time to the bottom corner of the net.

With the Christmas break in place Ballaghaderreen still hold onto top spot while Boyle Celtic have the same number of points but have a game more played. St Johns Athletic, Ballinasloe Town, Moore United and possibly Castlerea Celtic are all still in the title race as the league approach the half-way stage.
