Bohemians left Bishopsgate with all three SSE Airtricity League Premier Division points as goals from Liam Burt and Ali Coote gave them a two-nil victory over Longford Town.
First chance of the game came the way of Longford on the quarter-hour mark. Dylan Grimes curled in a free kick from the right which was headed over by Town striker Rob Manley from sixteen yards out.
Four minutes later, the visitors had their first shot on goal, Tyreke Wilson fired his 25-yard free kick well over the bar.
The Dubliners came close to taking the lead in the 24th minute. A right wing Ali Coote cross was side-footed over from just six-yards out by Ross Tierney.
Bohemians took the lead on two minutes later. Tyreke Wilson played a good ball from the left into the path of Liam Burt who took one touch to set himself up, before firing a superb 25-yard shot beyond the despairing dive of Town Keeper Mick Kelly.
The gypsies nearly doubled their advantage in the 43rd minute. Dawson Devoy delivered a dangerous left wing cross that narrowly missed the head of towering striker Georgie Kelly, and also the sliding Ross Tierney.
Bohs came close to rattling the Town net a second time on 62 minutes. Ali Coote whipped in a free kick from the right that picked out striker Georgie Kelly, but his 12-yard header produced a magnificent save from Town keeper Mick Kelly.
Bohemians defender James Finnerty almost scored an own goal on seventy-two minutes as he back-headed a Dylan Grimes free kick just wide of the back post.
Keith Longs troops sealed the three points and the win on 74 minutes, with Ali Coote scoring with a fine finish. Good play by Andy Lyons resulted in Ross Tierney passing to Ali Coote and he made no mistake from 10 yards out.
