The All Ireland championship series will become a little clearer at lunchtime on Wednesday as the draws for the group stages will take place at Croke Park from 1:30. Provincial winners and runners up will be the number 1 and 2 seeds with those finals to be decided over the coming 2 weekends. Kerry and Clare face each other in the Munster final this Sunday at 1:45 while Galway and Mayo renew their rivalry in Connacht with throw in at 4pm in Castlebar. The Leinster and ulster finals involving Louth, Meath, Armagh and Donegal are scheduled for the following weekend.
Pot 3 of the draw will include the 3rd seeds namely Monaghan, Roscommon, Dublin and Tyrone. Cavan, Cork, Derry and Down make up pot 4. While repeat pairings of provincial finals will be avoided all other pairings are possible. The opening round of games in the championship will throw in on the Weekend of 17th/18th of May.
In the Tailteann cup, First seeds are Fermanagh, Kildare, Offaly and Westmeath. Seconds seeds are Laois, Limerick, Sligo and Wexford. Third Seeds are Antrim, Carlow, Leitrim and Wicklow with Longford, London, Tipperary and Waterford the 4th seeds. New York will join the competition at the preliminary quarter final stage. The Draw for the Taitleann cup will also take place today (Wednesday) from 1:30 in Croke Park.
