The Longford champions had been favourites to progress in their meeting with Blessington

Following their surprise loss to Blessington in the Leinster senior club championship, Mullinalaghta will be turning their attentions back to the Leader cup semi finals this coming Sunday. The Longford champions had been favourites to progress against the Wicklow representatives and seemed destined to do that when they led by 1-05 to a point at half time, but they then failed to register another score for the remainder of the encounter with Blessington hitting them with 1-07 to progress. Speaking on sportsbeat on Monday evening regular Longford GAA correspondent Liam Tierney noted there is an air of deflation around the defeat...

Blessington will now face Naas in the quarter final of the championship.
