The 2023 Ryder Cup gets underway tomorrow morning at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, Rome.

Europe attempt to regain the Ryder Cup from the United States following a record 19-9 defeat at Whistling Straits in 2021.

Looking ahead to the 44th Ryder Cup match, Denis Kirwan spoke to Irish time’s golf correspondent Philip Reid.

Reid was recently elected as chairman of the Association of Golf Writers. Thus, becoming the first ever Irish man to hold the position.

Whereas, Reid is covering his 16th Ryder Cup and gave an insightful eye onto what is expected this weekend.

Europe captain Luke Donald and USA skipper Zach Johnson will announce their opening foursomes this afternoon ahead of tomorrow's opening.

Europe are bidding to regain the trophy after losing by 19 points to 9 to the Americans in Wisconsin two years ago. One thing in their favour is that the USA haven't won in Europe for 30 years.
