Volunteers across the region are being invited to participate in the Big Brother Big Sister Programme which is run by Foroige.
The initiative pairs adult volunteers with young people looking for friendship and support from those with a bit more life experience.
Clare Coyle is the project officer of the programme in Cavan and Monaghan.

Speaking to Joe Finnegan she says there are currently a number of young people on a waiting list to join the initiative and as a result the need for volunteers has never been greater.
