Gardaí are warning of the dangers of scams in the run-up to Christmas.
There has been a rise in scam calls in the Northern Sound region in recent weeks, with one such scam involving callers who claim to be from Visa.
Sergeant Paul McDermott, crime prevention officer for the Roscommon-Longford District, called for people to be particularly wary of banking scams and online loan scams.
