LISTEN: IFA wishlist for next week's Budget

Ahead of next week’s Budget 2018, the Irish Farmers’ Association has made a lengthy submission to the government with proposals that it wants introduced.

It claims farming remains a low-income sector, with average farm income of €24,000 in 2016.

The association claims that, in this environment, Budget 2018 provides an opportunity for the government to provide direct and positive support to farming enterprises.

John Hanley, the chairman of Roscommon IFA, spoke to me earlier and I first asked him the main points he wants addressed in the Budget.
