A Palestinian woman living in Roscommon is begging the Israeli Embassy in Dublin to help her get her family out of Gaza.
Originally from Gaza, Sherin Al Sabbagh is an Irish Citizen, translator and tutor who has been living locally for over 15 years.
Sherin's elderly mother, brother, sister in law and her nieces and nephews are currently sheltering at their home near Al Shifa Hospital in the enclave.
The area has seen heavy bombardment from Israeli artillery, airstrikes and armor, while the family's supplies of food and clean drinking water is reported to be critically low.
According to Sherin, her family home has already been targeted by an Israeli tank shell and the structure is in danger of collapse.
The Department of Foreign Affairs have granted a visa for Sherin's mother to enter the country, but the 73 year old and her family are unable to leave their home for fear of being wounded or killed.
Speaking to Shannonside FM News, Sherin says she's rang the Israeli Embassy in Dublin and begged them to liaise with IDF soldiers on the ground to let the family evacuate safely.
