Ahead of the refugee centre opening in Ballaghaderreen in six weeks' time, Let's Talk travelled to Monasterevin in Co Kildare, where an emergency reception and orientation centre has been in existence for about 18 months. It has catered for about 260 Syrians.
We spoke to a UN official, the mayor of Kildare, community activists and the man spearheading the voluntary effort for the refugees.
This was broadcast on Wednesday's programme.
