Fitzmaurice welcomes turf exemption from smoky coal ban

People who cut turf from their own bog banks will not be affected by a ban on the burning of smoky fuels.

The new regulations will come into effect from next September.

Roscommon Galway TD and Chairperson of the Turf Cutter and Contractors Association Michael Fitzmaurice told MaryClaire Grealy that while it's welcome, some more clarification is needed.
