DPD to cut fleet emissions by over 80% with use of biofuel

Trucks and vans collecting and delivering items from the DPD hub in Athlone will all be powered on Hydro treated Vegetable Oil from now on.

The move was announced by the parcel-delivery company this week as part of its commitment to a greener business model.

The company says it will reduce its carbon emissions by over 80%.

The vans and trucks don't have to be converted to burn the biofuel, although it is more expensive than diesel at the moment.

DPD CEO Des Travers spoke to Anne Norris about their green agenda on today's Let's Talk show.
