The official opening of the Leitrim Volunteer Centre takes place on Tuesday May 18th by the Minister of State at the Department of Community and Rural Development Joe O' Brien.
Leitrim is one of 8 new centres opening in the country since the middle of last year.
Its main aim is to match volunteers to suitable opportunities that arise in community based organisations.

Anne Norris has been talking to Chairperson of Leitrim Volunteer Centre Brian Smyth and the Centre Manager Josephine Stroker about who they hope will get involved and how they hope to develop,
Brian Smith first told Anne a little bit about the service and how the county came to gets its first dedicated centre.
