PODCAST: The business of solar farms

Last week, a planning application as lodged for a large solar farm to be developed near Longford town, which could create up to 35 jobs.

Grian PV is asking Longford County Council to allow it to build the renewable energy facility at the townland of Cleggill.

It’s the latest solar farm that planned for the area, with a 34-acre one planned for Creevyquinn, near Roscommon town.

I spoke to Peter Duff, a founding member of the Irish Solar Energy Association, about the growing trend.
