The playground in Strokestown, Co Roscommon, has been closed due to repeated acts of vandalism.
Several thousand euro worth of damage has been caused.
The community is starting a fundraising campaign and is hoping to raise up to €12,000 through a GoFundMe appeal.

The Strokestown Community Development Association is aiming to reopen the playground in the coming weeks.
Its chairman, Senator Eugene Murphy, has been speaking to Eoghan Murphy about the vandalism.
