Gardaí are investigating an incident of alleged assault that happened in the early hours of this morning at Longford Garda Station.
A male Garda in his thirties received injuries following the incident and was later take to Mullingar Regional Hospital for treatment.

It's understood he sustained injuries to his face.

A male youth was arrested in relation to this incident and is currently detained at Longford Garda Station.
