Victims of serious injuries from crashes are being acknowledged today.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is to be commemorated at events across the country.

24,663 people have been killed on Irish roads since records began.

Since 1977, when injury records began 84,977 people have been seriously injured which is equivalent to the population of Galway.

Brian Farrell from the Road Safety Authority, is calling on people to take more care on the roads.
