Longford County Council has started work on a new path to link Ballymahon town to the outskirts of Center Parcs.
The pathway, will bring walkers along the River Inny east towards Newcastle Woods.
The present works got underway earlier this month and will see the development of a 1.5km path initially, with funding applications in place to complete the 3km stretch to link up to Newcastle woods.

It's hoped that the current path will be ready for the public by the summer.
