Building Work has officially begun on the long awaited Longford Skate Park.
Design work were completed during the summer for the former Greyhound Track site, with the construction contracts signed in July.
The project is being brought forward by Vulcano Skateparks, a construction company specialising in the construction of skate infrastructure.

The company has built parks around Europe, with a state of the art facility recently completed in Mallow, County Cork.
It's hoped construction will be complete by the end of the year.
A campaign has been fought for the park for over ten years, led by local skaters, youth groups and Councillors, with Government funding of over €400,000 euro secured for the project earlier this year.
