Winning €6.4 million Lotto ticket bought in Athlone last Thursday

The National Lottery is urging players in Athlone to check their tickets carefully following confirmation that the winning Lotto jackpot of over €6 million euro was sold in the town.

There's no confirmation yet on the exact location in the town where the ticket was bought, but the lottery office says it was bought last Thursday the 20th of May.

The National Lottery says they haven't yet heard from the lucky jackpot winner, or from the person in Mayo who won €1 million in the same draw at the weekend.

Fran Whearty from the Lotto says signing your name to the back of the ticket is a vital part of claiming ownership of any winnings.
